WHAT'S HAPPENING

Join us on Thursday 12 February for Southwest London’s hottest new poetry night - If Poets Ruled the World! Whether you’re new to writing, a regular performer or someone just looking to do something a bit different on a weeknight, everyone is welcome! You can find us at Walnut Tree Café, which is located in the Sands Arts & Community Centre on Peterborough Road. Doors will open at 6:30pm for a 7pm start. If you’d like to share a piece, there will be a limited number of open mic slots available on the night. Please come early to avoid disappointment. We’re all about community, inclusivity and encouraging you to share your voice. Expect cosy vibes, a safe space and to leave with new friends <3 A little bit about us… This event is founded and hosted by Ruth Elora (also known as the Mayfair Poet) and Salma the Poet. Ruth and Salma met in early 2025 and bonded over the lack of poetry events in their local area. They noticed they cared about the same things - both feeling passionately about community, inclusivity, and encouraging others to share their voice. Fast forward a few months later and If Poets Ruled the World was born! We hope to see you there! Ruth and Salma xx
